New Vauxhall Astra VXR for 2011

The new generation Vauxhall Astra is still without a hot model but this looks set to change with a forthcoming Astra VXR model. Set to go head to head with the Renaultsport Megane, Golf GTI,Focus RS, Audi S3 and the like and will be powered by a 2.0 Litre turbo engine that offers 250bhp and 320 Nm of torque thats good enough to hit 0-60 mph in 6 seconds. Vauxhall have also stated that the new Astra VXR will come with FlexRide suspension with the choice of ‘Sport’ or ‘VXR’ mode to sharpen up acceleration response and make the suspension stiffer. Style wise the VXR will follow a similar theme to the previous model with a coupe body design, large central exhaust system and pumped up body kit. The interior is a newly redesigned cabin and Bluetooth and MP3 stereo should feature. The new Astra will be showcased at the Paris motor show and will be in the showroom from 2011 for £22k.
