The first generation Mini was produced from 1959 until 2000 and was a revolution to the UK and world car industry due to its simple build quality, popular driving style and general iconic design. The new generation of Mini is also known as the BMW Mini or the New MINI and was released in 2001. This version has been highly successful and is available in three variants; hatchback, convertible and clubman. The Clubman is the similar apart from it loses the First model and the Convertible model is only available in Cooper and S versions. When the Cooper S first came out it was fitted with a supercharged engine instead but BMW switched production to ensure that the car was produced completely in the UK. The Mini wouldn’t be complete with a range topping performance rally inspired option and so there is also the John Cooper Works model whose engine goes one step further and has an output of 208bhp and 260 Nm or torque. This limited edition car has a number of special features that include, special front and rear bumpers that incorporate additional styling points over the standard fit versions, Works side sills, unique 17″ cross spoke light alloy wheels, roof spoiler, 85mm wide twin exhaust pipes, Recaro sports seats and additional John Cooper stainless parts.
