There is no hidden meaning in the name Downforce1. It definitely does not involve getting down and dirty forcefully and Markus’ last name is definitely not what you think it is.
Downforce1 is indeed a legit race team founded and owned by Pamela Anderson and is set to race in the NASCAR 2013 with Austrian driver Markus Fux as the main driver. However, a second driver has not been appointed yet.
That is not a problem, though. Markus Fux, who is the team coordinator and marketing chief, will initiate the racing team with its first Le Mans race at the 6 Heures Du Castellet event that will be held at the Circuit Paul Richard in the country where romantic men thrive, France.
Launched officially in March, DownForce 1 by Pamela Anderson, as she calls it in her official website www.downforce1 dot com , is apparently a brainchild of the former Baywatch actress, from idea to implementation.
Who would have known that the ex-Baywatch actress and PETA supporter was also an avid motorsports fan and petrol head. But we definitely won’t be expecting any bikini-clad hot, sexy women running down that pits – that would be a big distraction for a lot of people. Most people wouldn’t take her seriously though. It’s not uncommon that racecar drivers and women get pretty intimate in certain “videos”.
Aston Martin and Dunlop seem serious about her motorsport endeavors though, being the official partners. Downforce1 will be campaigning an Aston Martin Vantage V8 GT2 in its inaugural Le Mans Series in Europe. The Aston Martin race car is no joke either. With a 4.5 liter V8 engine pumping out 450bhp only to move a 1,150 kilogram chassis around the track; it is something you would not expect to see many women driving.
If the Le Mans race goes well for the Downforce 1 Team, a NASCAR outfit will be in order. Stated in her website that the team only took 4 months to set up, it also has 10 years of racing experience to boot. This will be interesting.
